A spectacular performance by Canadian Army SkyHawks Demonstration Parachute Team began the evening with them jumping from over 6000m above the ground. The SkyHawks performed various formations and maneuvers with two jumpers flying the RMC and Canadian flags on the way down. They landed on the Inner Field and dedicated their performance to the graduating class of 2012.
Une performance spectaculaire de la part de l’Équipe de parachutistes des Forces canadiennes les SkyHawks a commencé la soirée avec un saut de 6000 mètres d’altitude. Les SkyHawks ont exécuté diverses formations et manœuvres avec deux parachutistes, tout en faisant voler le drapeau canadien ainsi que celui du CMRC. Ils ont atterri sur le « Inner Field » et ont dédié leur performance à la classe de 2012.
The band marched onto the parade square following the arrival of the Chief of Defense Staff General Walter Natynczyk, and RMC’s Commandant Brigadier General Éric Tremblay, who were the guests of honor.
La fanfare a fait son entrée sur le terrain de parade après l’arrivée du Chef d’état-major de la défense, Général Walter Natynczyk, et le Commandant du CMRC, Brigadier-général Éric Tremblay, qui étaient les invités d’honneur.
The RMC band played with a delegation from the ALOY program and the Highland Dancers in an energetic performance.
La fanfare du CMRC a réalisé une performance en collaboration avec des membres du PILA, suivi par les Highland Dancers.
The RMC Precision Drill Team then performed an impressive routine with rifle and sword movements and gun salutes.
L’équipe d’exercice élémentaire de précision du CMRC a exécuté une routine impressionnante en coordonnant épée et fusil.
The Sandhurst military skills team was next and it showcased many of their military skills.
The traditional Old Eighteen re-enactment followed which consisted of 19th century battle drill complete with muskets and a Red Coat vs. 1812 American invaders showdown. The Old Eighteen represent the first eighteen cadets who entered RMC in 1876.
La démonstration des Anciens 18 a suivi avec une réincarnation d’une bataille du 19e siècle entre les Anglais et les rebelles américains de 1812. Les Anciens 18 représentent les 18 premiers élèves-officiers du CMRC de 1876.
The Taekwondo team followed with a spectacular demonstration of skill and power.
L’équipe de taekwondo suivi avec une démonstration spectaculaire de force et d’adresse.
The RMC Honour Guard accompanied by flag bearers carrying the provincial flags marched onto the parade square. The outgoing Colour Party (11 Squadron) was handed over to next year’s Colour Party (1 Squadron) with the canon firing and the Honour Guard firing in the background.
La Garde d’Honneur accompagné par la Garde de drapeau est entrée sur le terrain de parade. La garde de drapeau sortante (Escadron 11) a remis les drapeaux à la nouvelle garde de drapeau (Escadron 1) avec des coups de canon et la garde d’honneur en arrière-plan.
The traditional Sunset Ceremony followed. The Retreat, the Tattoo, and the Feu de joie were performed by the RMC Band and the RMC Honour Guard.
To end the evening a lone piper on top of Lasalle led the RMC Band in Amazing Grace over a darkened parade square. This was poignantly followed by a spectacular fireworks display, tying off a wonderful evening of RMC pride and fanfare.
La cérémonie du crépuscule suivi avec la Retraite, le Tattoo et le feu de joie.
Pour conclure la soirée, un joueur de cornemuse solitaire sur le toit du Lasalle joua Amazing Grace au-dessus d’un terrain de parade assombri. Ceci fut suivi d’un spectacle de feu d’artifice, qui marqua la fin d’une merveilleuse performance.
