OCdts. On Parade

– spent his teenage years in Richmond, B.C. before attending Royal Roads Military College; during his tour in Afghanistan , the Battalion launched the first combat air assault mission in the history of the Canadian Army and conducted numerous defensive and offensive combat missions at section, platoon, company and battle group level.

– grew up in a Navy family; was headed for Civy U until RMC heard about his hockey background while he was at BOTC in Chilliwack; was one of the better hockey players for the Redmen during his 4 years; currently a Maritime Surface Officer at Dept of National Defence.

– as a cadet played a little golf, baseball & hockey; did MARS IV Course in Halifax immediately following graduation; his first ship was the HMCS St Croix; current president of the Nova Scotia Branch of the RMC Club and the glue that keeps it firing on all cylinders.

– Cornwall, ON native; was well known through his four years by being constantly late for everything; highly regarded as a family man.

– won Lt Gov of Quebec (academic) medal at RRMC; played rep hockey in I & II Years; played rugger all 4 years – both at RRMC & RMC; immediately following grad did seven months training with 1PPCLI, Calgary; first posting after phase IV course at CFSCEE, Kingston was as TelOpsO / Canex Officer at CFS Dana; a former signals officer who served in the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) in the Middle East.

– proud graduate of Musgravetown Central High ’99; was one of over 2,000 runners in the Bluenose half marathon this past Victoria Day Weekend; got grounded in Scotland because of the ash cloud in April.

– made a name for himself playing corner linebacker for the Redmen; and was a force with both the swimming and water polo teams; earned CFL appointment in IV Year; had a long and  distinguished career as a pilot; currently a pension committee member for retired airline pilots of Canada (RAPCAN).

– arrived at RMC from northern British Columbia – a little place called Terrace; attracted to RMC mostly because of the basketball program; turns the big “25” later this week (27 Aug).

– is from the Acadian town of Buctouche, New Brunswick; he and the rest of his family (wife & three children) won the family costume prize at the Halloween Party in Comox last year!

– a fait son doctorat à l’Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris; étudie le terrorisme et la sécurité internationale; est arrivé au CMRC du CMR St. Jean l’année passée.

– arrived at RMC from “Roads” with a big hockey reputation – he lived up to it over two seasons as a Redmen; spent time in Comox and Ottawa prior to leaving for Geilenkirchen, Germany.

– grew up in an RCMP family, arrived at RMC from Rosetown, SK; played four years for the hockey team under two different coaches; his stats for his last two seasons, included : 12 goals, 14 assists and 76 PIM. Earned OUA Athlete of the Week honours in IV Year.

– varsity basketball player at RMC; CF Nationals 5km Champion for four years straight 2005-2008; pinnacle of his running career was in 2008 when he qualified and competed in the Canadian Olympic Track and Field Trials; had to put his track career on pause for a year as he was deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan from Feb – Nov 2009.

– spent a great number of years in the Air Cadet program prior to RMC; was awarded the W.M. Carleton Monk Memorial Scholarship as the RETP in IV Year with the highest marks in academic subjects.

– attracted to RMC to play basketball; awarded The Society of chemical Industry Award, Canadian section for having the highest standing in IV Year of the course in Chemical Engineering.

– vient de prendre sa retraite des Forces Canadiennes; directeur adjoint du département de mathématiques et informatiques; aime nager et faire du course.

– comes from the same place that #87 for the Pittsburgh Penguins calls home; played some volleyball and rugby; proud parent of two lovely daughters.

– varsity volleyball player & past CSL; awarded The Stuart S Barton Science Award for achieving the highest overall academic average in IV Year.

–arrived at RMC from St-Ferdinand, QC; was a first year Comsec and CFL; graduated with a degree in civil engineering; took a trip to the Dominican Republic in  IV year.

– from Cape Breton, NS; one of the finer goaltenders to grace the intra-mural hockey league; twice a member of the RMC Sandhurst Team; currently located in Victoria, BC, as a young MARS officer.

– hails from Kamloops, BC; highly skilled mountain biker, snowboarder, and most recently, the intra-mural Soccer mvp at RMC; graduated with a degree in Business, and is currently posted to Winnipeg, MB.

– calls Windsor, NS home; played for the varsity men’s Rugby team, and was also known to tear up the intra-mural hockey league; holds a degree in psychology , and is currently posted to Cold Lake, AB as an Air Log Officer.
