The Royal Military College of Canada was ranked 2nd best Research University of the Year in the Undergraduate category in 2009 by Research Infosource Inc. The Royal Military College of Canada provides undergraduate and advanced degree programs and professional development for postgraduate students in key areas of engineering, humanities, social sciences and science; to carry out scholarly research that will sustain the degree programs, support the needs of the Canadian Forces, and create a climate of intellectual ferment at the College. In terms of financial input indicators, the College was ranked 6th for to tal sponsored research income and 2nd in faculty research intensity. By way of Research Output Indicators, the College was ranked 12th in total number of publications and 2nd in publication intensity. For research impact indicator, the College was ranked 13th for publication impact. The College was ranked 14th on University Research Publication Growth (2002-2007) in the undergraduate category with a 13.2% increase of 120 research publications in 2007, from 106 in 2002.
The Royal Military College of Canada was ranked as 25th best Research University of the Year overall. In terms of financial input indicators, the College was ranked 33rd for total sponsored research income and 20th in faculty research intensity. By way of Research Output Indicators, the College was ranked 39th in total number of publications and 24th in publication intensity. For research impact indicator, the College was ranked 39th for publication impact. The College was ranked 34th in the Canada< /st1:place>’s Top 50 Research Universities List for 2008, down from 29th in 2007. The sponsored research income for FY 2008 was $17, 285,000 in 2008, down from $20,209,000 in 2007, a decrease of 14.5%.
