Class of 1970 Athletics Wall of Distinction Ceremony

The Athletics Wall Of Distinction (AWOD) was established to honour those who have brought distinction to the Canadian Military Colleges (CMC) through significant achievements and contributions in sport while at a CMC and/or following graduation throughout their athletics careers. The AWOD program was conceived by the Class of 1970 and is supported through an endowment funded by the Class to honour its entry into the Old Brigade in the fall of 2015.

Canada’s contribution to the War on Terror, our longest War at just over 12 years, was our first NATO Article 5 commitment. The LAV we see before us was a centerpiece of Canada’s efforts in Afghanistan, and the Class of 80 thought it was important to provide a monument to provide a focus on Canada’s contribution.
