3155 Donald (Dusty) Miller (Class of 1953) and his wife Joan recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. The festivities took place at Montebello, Quebec. Assisting them in this celebration were their four sons, John, Donald, Brian and Philip together with their wives Joy, Susan, Doris and Gerry. It was a grand occasion in a grand setting.
Incidentally, “Dusty” was at Pratt & Whitney recently where there was a celebration of the 50th anniversary of production of the PT6 engine. His son, Brian, works there and the picture is of the two of them behind that first engine!!
Pratt & Whitney built over 41,000 of them…ie 2.79 every day for 50 years!!!
As an aside, the Walt Disney movie “Plane” features an Ayres, Turbo Thrush AgPlane…which just happens to be powered by the PT6. This engine has become a global icon and even has its own website called PT6 Nation.

11338 Bruce Barteaux will unfortunately miss his 35th Reunion this year as he’ll be busy competing in the Canadian 24 Hour Ultramarathon Championship.
The idea of a fixed time running event is to cover the most distance in the time available. That means no sleep and lots of running in Ottawa on 28/29 Sep. Bruce has been blessed with a healthy body and his performances have allowed him to be a member of the Canadian team to various World Championships over the past decade plus.
In this race, as well as striving for a position on the 2014 Canadian team, Bruce will use this as his special event for the Terry Fox Run. You can find out more detail, see some pictures and have the opportunity to donate securely on-line by following this link. http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=2005754
While he will be rather busy he trusts that his buds will enjoy the Reunion Weekend activities.
