A118 DIGNUM, Raymond –
It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond Dignum announce his peaceful passing at 81 years of age on Sunday, January 11, 2015. Beloved partner of Sheila Pullen. He was predeceased by his second wife Stefania. He was the loving father of Denise Dignum (Don), Danielle Burelle (Roger), Colin Dignum (Tracy), Alain Dignum (Myrna) and Louise Dignum (Ian). Ray dearly loved his eight grandchildren.
Ray’s work with RMC spanned many years (1959-1994). He was a man of integrity and a hardworking and dedicated civil servant. Ray was very proud of his involvement with the PWOR spanning 50 years and served as commanding officer (1969-1972).
A Memorial Visitation was held at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME , 1900 John Counter Boulevard on Saturday, January 17, 2015 A private inurnment will be held at Cataraqui Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Kingston Humane Society will be appreciated by the family.1288
Extra Note: As an Associate member Ray was a former president of the Kingston Branch. He was a regular attendee at the monthly luncheons and major events throughout the years. During his teaching days in & out of military uniform he was a big supporter of a number of college sports and recreation clubs.

RCNC 64 William Edward (Ted) Clayards
CLAYARDS, William Edward (Ted) Passed away peacefully on 12th January 2015 at the Lodge at Broadmead, Saanich, BC. Born in Victoria BC on 30 December 1923. A second generation native son of Victoria, Ted loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. As youngsters he and his lifelong pals from Scouts ranged from Oak bay to Durrance Lake on bicycles, developing independence and self-confidence.
The Second War prompted him to join Royal Roads Military College as a cadet, graduating from the first class into the RCN. He saw active service in the Pacific and Atlantic theaters followed by the Korean War. He was the Canadian Navy Liaison officer to the USN in Key West Florida, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. While at his last career posting, Executive Officer of Royal Roads Military College, he also served as Aid de Camp to the British Columbia Lieutenant Governor, General George R. Pearkes.
Following his military career Ted joined the Federal Public Service at HMC Dockyard, retiring for the second time as SESO, executive assistant to the Base Commander. Ted served two terms on Council in Central Saanich.
Was a member of the Saanich Peninsula Pioneer Society, Saanich Peninsula Agricultural Society, BC Fruit Testers, and Vancouver Island Grape Growers Association (VIGGA) He was a board member of the Maritime Museum of BC and an active member of the retired Naval Officers Association and the Royal Canadian Legion. Ted was an active parishioner at St, Stephen’s Church in Saanichton, serving on council and as the Rectors’ warden. Much loved patriarch of the Clayards family he was predeceased by his wife Marilyn, and will be missed by his son Brock, wife Margaret and his daughter Jocelyn, husband Scott Fraser, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Services to be held at St. Stephen’s church at 2:00 P.M. on January 24th, 2015. Many thanks to the staff of The Lodge at Broadmead. Ted and his family were always appreciative of their excellent care and attention. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to The Lodge at Broadmead would be appreciated.
