#85 Mr. William J. Stewart was a graduate of the Royal Military College, Kingston, he attached the names of some twenty-five officers and cadets to rocks, islands etc., in Georgian Bay, North Channel and St. Mary River region of Ontario.

He Canada’s first chief hydrographer, (1863-1925) and surveyed the area during 1883-93.

• Bowen Island, St. Joseph Channel, Algoma District, Ontario was named in honour of #13 Major General Aylesworth Bowen Perry , C.M.G., one of the Old Eighteen. 19′ 4″ North 84o 3′ 52″ West.

Major General Perry (August 21, 1860 – February 14, 1956) served as the sixth Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, from August 1, 1900 to March 31, 1923.

• Würtele Point, St. Joseph Channel, Algoma District, Ontario was named in honour of #1 Lt. Col. Ernest F. Würtele, 8th Royal Rifles Quebec. He was one of the Old Eighteen. He served as Secretary of the Royal Military College Club in 1892.
