This morning, Don, Barry, Ross and I went down to High Park to see our track boys run the harriers race with Varsity, McGill, Queen’s, OAC and McMaster. RMC placed fifth, Tromanhauser placing thirteenth as our first man in. It was very cold and windy and as a result very hard on the runners. Varsity won the meet by a good margin. That afternoon we saw Queen’s lose 5-7 to Varsity. It was a heart breaking game and Queen’s outplayed Varsity but just couldn’t seem to get the ball over. That evening we went to Pete Neeland’s fraternity for supper and a dance at Hart House. Very satisfactory weekend.

Today a high-ranking Italian general came to the College and of course we had to give him a full ceremonial parade. The RCEME bugle band came down this time and livened up the parade considerably. It’s getting so we rattle through a ceremonial and inspection every time we parade for lunch.

Yesterday we played McGill’s Intermediate rugby team and were soundly trounced 33-0. They have a very strong team, are undefeated for the season. Most of them will be playing senior next year. Our team were within a foot of a touchdown two different times but were held each time. There was a dance last night but I didn’t go…have been studying like blazes these days. Quite a few recruits are off the square now but have to borrow uniforms. They don’t expect them until after Christmas which is very disappointing. I got my winter hat the other day; it is very smart with the scarlet flap and big gold button. The new padre, Maj. Goforth, preached today, and he is an excellent speaker. Our senior soccer team won 5-0 against an army team, from Vimy and the district and the juniors beat TCS 3-0, which sounds better for our soccer teams.
