Sunset Ceremony – 25 April 2015 at Royal Roads

On Saturday, 25 April 2015, Royal Roads will be conducting a special Sunset Ceremony as part of celebrating 75 years of its excellence in Leadership, Education and Training at Royal Roads – 55 years as a military institution/college and 20 years as a university.  The last Sunset Ceremony was held on the parade square of Royal Roads Military College (RRMC) on 12 May 1995, as part of the closure ceremonies for Royal Roads Military College.  Participants for the 25 April 2015 ceremony include the Snowbirds, officer cadets from the Royal Military College of Canada’s  Pipes and Drums band, the Naden Band of the RCN, 105 mm guns from the 5th (BC) Field Regiment of the RCA, the 50 person Vice Regal Guard from CFB Esquimalt, a contingent of ex cadets representing the 55 years of Royal Roads as a military institution/college, cadets from the Regional Cadet Support Unit (Pacific) and cadets from the USAFA Drum and Bugle Corp.  The Sunset Ceremony will commence at 1845 and conclude at 2030.   This event is open to all ex cadets and staff of the military colleges and Royal Roads University as well as to all members of the community.

Further details and/or questions or suggestions for the Sunset Ceremony can be forwarded to Cindy Goodman at Royal Roads University:cindy.goodman@royalroads.ca.

Other events will also be planned in 2015, including a President’s Formal Gala in October,  alumni awards/convocation ceremonies, and a special 2015 Homecoming weekend (11-13 Sep 2015).

Notice:  For any classes who are celebrating a special entry or graduation year from Royal Roads Military College in 2015, it is requested that a class secretary contact Al Kennedy, Secretary for the Vancouver Island Ex Cadet Club, viexcadetclub@shaw.ca– as planning for the 2015 Homecoming  has commenced.  Your assistance in advising your fellow classmates about this Homecoming weekend  is much appreciated.
