My dad was involved in the building of these bridges and I rebuilt the remaining one (too much road salt had made it unsafe over 35 years) http://intergon.net/handson/ (we wore civilian cloths because the army reserve would not let us do it as army reservists – we made more money too, working via my consultancy.)

Commemoration of the construction of six bailey bridges following Hurricane Hazel in Toronto on 8 Jun. A few miles west of the Toronto Zoo in Scarborough.
Toronto – 8 June 2014 at noon there will be a commemorative visit to the bridge that I rebuilt over the Rouge RIver. The commemoration is to do with the original bridge that was constructed in 1954 following Huricane Hazel. A talk will be given by Major (ret) Mid Kitchen, who was inolved in the 1954 construction.
