blais.jpg5330 JEAN-PAUL BLAIS  (CMR RMC ’62) On October 29, 2008, died at age 67 Jean-Paul Blais. He leaves to mourn his wife Rejeanne, his children Michel (Suzanne), Christiane and deceased daughter Anne-Marie, his brothers and sisters, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, his nephews, nieces, cousins, other family members and many friends. The family wishes to thank the caregivers of the West Island Palliative Care Residence for their kindness and warmth and for being available at all times for Jean-Paul and his family. The family will receive condolences at: 16114 Gouin boulevard West Sainte-Genevieve de Pierrefonds on November 1 and 2 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place on November 3 at 11 a.m., at St-Joachim Church, 2 Sainte-Anne Street, in Pointe-Claire. From there, to Saint-Joachim cemetery located on St-Jean boulevard (between Douglas-Shand and Highway 20). Donations to the West Island Palliative Care Residence, 265 Andre-Brunet Street, Kirkland, QC, H9H 3R4, would be appreciated.

dianne_dutton.JPGDr. Dianne Lilliane Dutton Passed away at her home in Welland, Ontario, on October 31 2008 after a battle with cancer. After earning a BA in French and English literature (York University, 1983), Dianne initially chose a career as a lawyer, completing a BCL (Bachelor of Civil Law, Quebec) and an LL.B (Bachelor of Civil Law, Common Law) at McGill in 1991. She was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1993. In the mid nineties, she returned to the study of literature, earning a BEd in French and English (Queen’s 1997) followed by an MA and a PhD in French literature (Queen’s 1998 and 2003). After finishing her PhD she was a postdoctoral fellow at Queen’s from 2003-2005. She was a loving wife to Spencer Shoniker, daughter to John and Helen Dutton, sister to Carol Bureau and Corinne Dutton and friend to many. Dianne enjoyed life to its fullest as an accomplished professor at Queens, Lethbridge and Brock Universities, and at the Royal Military College, as an author, world traveller, and devoted scuba-diver.
