Holiday Branch Events

The Vancouver Island Ex-Cadet Club is pleased to announce that with the kind permission of Royal Roads University, the club’s annual Christmas Luncheon will take place in the Anteroom of the Castle 11:30PST onward, Tuesday, 10 December 2024. This luncheon welcomes members, spouses, and members’ guests.

Fire orders restrict attendance at this event to 80 persons, but in the case we are over-subscribed, a waiting list will be taken. The deadline for subscriptions will PROBABLY be 12:00PST, Wednesday, 04 December 2024, but why wait? Earlier is better. At the time of issue of this notice, 22 Nov 2024, 49 subscriptions had been taken.

All subscriptions will be acknowledged. In the case of a waiting list, those on the list will be informed of their place on the list and updated as necessary as changes are made.

The cost of the luncheon this year will be $60.00 per person. Interac eTransfer is the preferred method of payment (to viecc.treasurer@gmail.com; note the “dot/period” that is a required part of the address). Please DO NOT attempt to pay via the club’s Interac payment system until you are notified that your subscription has been received and acknowledged by Willy. Payment may also be made by cheque or money order, payable to the VI Ex-Cadet Club. Payment will be accepted at the event for those with an acknowledged subscription. Payment in cash will also be accepted at that time.

As in previous years, the buffet will be similar to the caterer’s Traditional Christmas lunch buffet Turkey Dinner (we’ve not received confirmation of the menu yet). Details will be posted here when known.

A cash bar will be set up in the Castle’s former Wardroom for this luncheon, with two stewards.

Those requiring a parking allocation close to the Castle are requested to notify Willy and he will get back to them once the parking assignments have been made. As December 10th is a working day for RRU, payment for parking is required to park on the RRU P3 lot (the old Parade Square).

VIECC Christmas Message and Invitation to December 2024 Union Club Luncheon

Vancouver Island Branch Christmas Invitation – Saturday 28 December 2024

On behalf of the membership of the Vancouver Island Ex-cadet Club, I extend to the entire Military College community our very best wishes for the upcoming holiday season, and for health and happiness throughout the coming year.

The Club also advises that it will be hosting the annual “Host the Cadets” reception and luncheon for Cadets of the Royal Military Colleges of Canada, military college aspirants, Ex-Cadets and their guests on Saturday, 28 December 2024 at 11:30 am at the Union Club of British Columbia, 805 Gordon Street, Victoria, B.C. Cadets and two guests each will be hosted courtesy of the Club (no-host bar).
