11002 LCol Bill Sergeant, OMM, CD (RMC 1976) will retire on 07 Sep 10 after 38 years of illustrious service to the Queen, Canada, the Air Force, NATO and its Aerospace Engineers and Maintainers.

While at RMC he played varsity football and varsity basketball, graduating during RMC’s centennial year with the Class of 1976 with a BEng (Mech). As an AERE Officer he has helped maintained four aircraft types; the CF-104 Starfighter, the CF-101 Voodoo, the CP-140 Aurora and the CF-18 Hornet.

He is a graduate of the German Command and General Staff in Hamburg, Germany and served three other tours in Germany, including two at the NATO Air Component HQ in Ramstein, Germany. He has also been posted to CDLS(Washington) in the CF-18 Liaison Office where he worked closely with the US Navy, and at the UK Joint Services Command and Staff College in Shrivenham, England as a DS and the XO of the Advanced Command and Staff College.

Bill and Monika will be retiring in Barrie Ontario, where Bill will work as a consultant and continue to be involved with his favourite charities.

In honour of his 38 years of dedicated service there will be an informal celebration in the WW I hanger of the Air Force Annex to the Base Borden Military Museum on Fri, 27 Aug 10 at 1130 hrs. Colleagues, friends and families are most welcome to join them. Comfortable civilian clothing or S-3s are appropriate dress. The cost of the event will be a donation to the BBMM at the door. Finger food will be served and a pay-as-you-go bar will be set up in the hangar.
