12157 BOONE, Edgar Wayne, Ph.D -1956 – 2015

Suddenly on Saturday afternoon, June 20, 2015 at the age of 59. Wayne will be sadly missed and always loved by his wife, Sherain (Ali) Boone. Son of the late Lloyd Reginald Boone and Phyllis Ono (Maxwell) Boone, loving father to his son, Wyatt, and daughter, Rachel; cherished brother of Richard Boone (Susanne) and Cheryl Boone (Steve). He is also missed by his nieces and nephews Safiya, Maia, Amarah, Ziyad, Darius and Zariya and his in-laws Kamal Ali (Fabi), Reyaud Ali (Fadiya) and Shazmin Ali (Andy). Wayne’s RMC Class of ’79 friends and classmates, including John Moore, Peter Killaby, and Peter Avis will always admire and miss him. Wayne will be missed and always esteemed by his many friends, colleagues and students in the Canadian Armed Forces (Royal Military College and Military Police), Carleton University (Infrastructure Protection & International Security Program and The Norman Paterson School of International Affairs), Blue Knights and Canadian Army Veterans (CAV) Motorcycle Clubs, the Masons (Inner Guard Edinburgh Lodge, 736), and the Asset Protection & Security (AP&S) and Intelligence communities in Canada and the United States.

Family and friends are invited to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, East of Vanier Parkway), on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the Hall of Colours. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Space. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Wayne’s memory to the Police Fund for Blind Children (www.mpfbc.com/donate) would be gratefully appreciated by the family. 3563 PHILIP ADAMS

The family of Thomas Philip Adams is sad to announce his death at age 82 on May 22, 2015 in Midland, Ontario.

Philip is survived by his beloved wife Nancy Adams (Lecour), his four children Louise Adams (Steven Karrys), Jennifer Adams (Randall Wilson), Tom Adams (Laura Adams) and Kathryn Adams (Patrick Collins), his special niece Mary Jane Grant and her son Riley Quinn. He leaves behind 8 fantastic grandchildren Lauren and Andrea Karrys, Nolan and Liam Wilson, Hilary and Mitchell Adams and Owen and Adrienne Collins. Philip will be deeply missed by his sister Marjorie Burns, many nieces and nephews and countless friends. Philip was born on September 7, 1932 in Windsor, Nova Scotia. He spent his early years moving around Canada as his father took up various positions at the Bank of Nova Scotia.

Philip graduated from the Royal Military College and the University of Toronto. Most of his professional career was spent working with the Ontario Public Service. Philip was instrumental in the development of important social programs such as OHIP. As Assistant Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, he was a leader in the creation of Ontario’s community college system.

After retirement Philip and Nancy moved to Midland, where they began another chapter. They enjoyed their gardens, bridge club, curling and travels to many parts of the world. Philip continued in service to his community, as Founding Chair of the Simcoe County Community Care Access Centre and as Chair of the Historical & Heritage Committee for the Township of Tiny. He also took time to author two books on Huronia history.

Philip was known for his gregarious nature, his razor- sharp intellect and his ability to devour a seemingly infinite number of books. He was an unwavering supporter of the Toronto Argonauts and an enormously proud Canadian. His greatest love was for his family, of whom he was immensely proud. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, May 27th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 589 Hugel Avenue, Midland, Ontario. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
