Clarice CLAYARDS, wife of RCNC64 Ted CLAYARDS
CLAYARDS, Clarice Marilyn On Tuesday April 7, Marilyn Clayards passed away peacefully in the company of her family. She will be sadly missed by her husband W.E (Ted) Clayards, son Brock and daughter-in-law Margaret, daughter Jocelyn and son-in-law Scott Fraser. She leaves 5 grandchildren Meaghan, Sarah, Ross, Ian and Stuart. Marilyn was a member of the Saanich pioneer Thomson family. She was raised in Duncan, the daughter of Dr. G.W.C. Bissett and Alice Bissett. Marilyn was a proud alumni of Queen Margaret’s School for Girls. She had a passion for her beloved community of Central Saanich being active in the St Stephen’s ACW, the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Auxilary and at the Saanich Agricultural Society where she organized the Fall Fair Art Show for many years. Marilyn travelled extensively with Ted in support of Ted’s Naval career again volunteering in the community wherever she went. The family greatly appreciates the excellent personal care provided by the staff at Sidney Care Home and the years of skilled and dedicated care of Dr. George Wray. A service was held at St Stephens Anglican Church on Friday 17 April 2009. Donations may be made to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Ladies Auxiliary or to the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church Ladies Auxiliary.

H.M. (HARRY) DUTTON 1919 – 2009 Passed away peacefully in Waterloo, ON, on Wednesday April 1, 2009, in his 90th year. Pre-deceased (Oct 7, 2008) by his wife of almost 66 years Joan C. Dutton. Harry is survived by his children: David (Cheryl Stroud), Marnie Robertson (Alastair) and Jeremy (Peggy MacMillan), and seven grandchildren. Born in England, served in the RAF, immigrated to Canada after the Second World War, he taught at UBC, Royal Roads, and Bishop’s University (Professor Emeritus). Harry was man of many talents and interests: soccer, rugby, fishing, sailing, retriever field trials, gardening, bridge and music.
