Master Warrant Officer (retired) John King Langille Former RMC Pipe-Major 1999 to 2002
Master Warrant Officer (retired) John King Langille, age 55, of Frederick St., New Glasgow, passed away December 7th in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Dolorosa “Dolly” (Mattie) Langille, New Glasgow, and the late Theodore “Ted” Langille.
John had joined the army in 1972 with the infantry, Nova Scotia Highlanders, he then became a piper in the Royal Canadian Regiment, he had served in Germany, and Cyprus with Canadian Peace Keeping Regiment then became Pipe Major in Greenwood and later in Shearwater. John then went to the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario, where he taught piping and was the Chief Piping instructor at the Canadian Forces Music Centre in Borden, Ontario where he retired as a Master Warrant Officer in 2006. He was a member of Branch No. 34 Royal Canadian Legion, New Glasgow and a member of the Black Watch.
He is survived by his mother Dolorosa “Dolly”, New Glasgow; brother, Burt (Trudy), Stellarton; sisters, Katherine (Bill) Knoll, New Glasgow; Heather (Ken) Spanks, Australia; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
