3rd Year Mechanical Engineering Design Competition/Compétition de design de troisième année génie mécanique
On Thursday 1 May, the 3rd year Mechanical Engineering class held their annual design competition for the course MEE303 – Engineering Design. The goal of the competition was to design and build a mouse trap-powered boat that would sail autonomously and stop as close as possible to a line at 13.5 feet from the starting point. OCdts deBoer and Zaharia designed the winning boat, which stopped exactly on the line.
Le jeudi 1er mai, les étudiants de troisième année en génie mécanique ont participé à la compétition annuelle du cours GMF303 – Design en ingénierie. Le but de la compétition était de faire le design et de construire un bateau dont la puissance provient d’une trappe à souris. Le bateau devait naviguer de façon autonome, et s’arrêter le plus près possible d’une ligne à 13.5 pieds du point de départ. Les Élofs deBoer et Zaharia ont conçu le bateau gagnant, qui s’est arrêté exactement sur la ligne.
