This week, Greg Theriau, Men’s soccer team captain is being featured. He is from Kentville, Nova Scotia. He is studying Aerospace Engineering in order to be an Aerospace Engineer upon graduation. Greg has one brother named Chris and on the soccer field, he play center midfield or striker.
One special memory you have from soccer is: There are so many memorable moments at soccer, which may be surprising considering we haven’t won a game in 4 years. But one that sticks out is when our coach drop kicked his gum and pulled a hamstring!
My most memorable game was: Although I was injured and didn’t actually play in the game, it would have to be our game against the University of Toronto. The Canadian National Soccer Team was in Toronto for their game against Puerto Rico the following week and, thanks to our head coach, Victor Mendes’ ties with the National program, we were introduced to a few of the players. It was incredible to have the opportunity to receive words of wisdom from Dwayne De Rosario prior to the match.
One thing people don’t know about me is: I dislocated my shoulder throwing a soccer cleat.
Biggest Fear: Coming from the east coast, it’s actually sharks.
Hobbies: Not like I really have time for hobbies, but I’d have to say snowboarding is one of my favourite pastimes.
Future Aspirations: Honestly, I don’t really know. I think I might like being a flight test engineer. But we’ll see where things take me.
Good luck to the Men’s soccer team and all varsity teams this weekend.
