Mission Accomplished!

3, 005.10 miles in 10 days 8 hours 36 minutes – on a bike!

Tony O’Keeffe was the Top North American and the only Canadian to finish Race Across America (RAAM). Overall he finished in fourth place with a time of 10 days 8 hours 36 minutes.

Jure Robic – Slovenia; Gerhard Gulewicz – Austria; Matthew Warner-Smith – Australia finished 1-2-3.

Tony left Kingston three weeks ago, a determined man. The task ahead was to conquer RAAM and better his result from four years ago.

RAAM is the World’s Toughest Bike Race. It is almost 50% longer than the Tour de France.

Prior to this 2010 event, in the 27 year history of the race less than 200 solo and tandem racers have officially finished solo RAAM earning the title of RAAM Finisher. Tony O’Keeffe earned the distinction in 2006 when he finished 9th overall in 11 days and five hours.

He and his team (and what a team it was) departed Oceanside California on Wed, June 9th and arrived in Annapolis, Maryland on Sat evening June 19th. Two team members were recent RMC grads – Nick Bouchard & Kala MacMillan (pictured left).

2010 RAAM – over, completed, finished! Congratulations to Tony and the team.
