The Order of Canada is one of Canada’s highest civilian honours. It was established in 1967, Canada’s centennial year, to recognize outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. Three Ex Cadets were among 86 new appointments to the Order of Canada announced June 30, 2014.

SPECIAL NOTE:

This has been a very busy year for4860 General A. John G. D. de Chastelain. In addition to his promotion as a COMPANION OF THE ORDER OF CANADA; the former RMC commandant and former Chief of Defence Staff was presented with an honorary degree from Mount Allison University in May.  The text of his very interesting address may be found here.

The awards continued for General deChastelain as The University of Edinburgh acknowledged his outstanding achievement with another honorary degree in Toronto – Art Gallery of  Ontario – 19 June.
