I just wanted to share something with you that my son, Tom Dinner, attended last night.
I have attached the letter sent to RMC which explains the events of last night along with a picture of Tom presenting the scholarship he has sponsored to the young Royal Regiment recipient (the name I do not have).
He had a wonderful time meeting up with old friends, especially those who have recently returned from serving first and second tours of duty.
Feel free to include in your newsletter if you wish. I just think it is wonderful that RMC encourages their students to go back into their community to be with them on very special occasions such as Remembrance Day. As an aside, Tom also attended services at the elementary school I work at on Friday. The students had a special mass and Tom was there to talk to them about the significance of Remembrance Day and then there was a question and answer session that the young students very much enjoyed. The very touching moment for Tom is when the young students waved their individually decorated poppies so he could see them all…to which he replied that this is what Flanders Field must look like.
The staff, students and parents were very impressed with Tom and commented that if he is an example of what RMC produces then we are obviously in good hands.
A mom could not be any prouder.
I have to go now, to attend the services in downtown Toronto.
