The Annual Fall Formal Dinner had a good turnout last Wed night ( 9 Nov) of Kingston Branch members.
Guest Speaker was college commandant, BGen Eric Tremblay. Also sitting at the head table was local Member of Parliament, Ted Hsu who represents Kingston and the Islands.
Congratulations to the Branch executive for organizing clearly another classy event.
The next scheduled function for the Kingston Branch is the monthly luncheon – at the college Senior Staff Mess – 7 December.
Ex cadets across the country (and elsewhere) should check out their local Branch to see when / where their next function will be held. If there is not an organized Branch in your area – look at getting one organized.
xx

D Division First Year Cadets Mess Dinner
Photos and Article By: 26314 OCdt (I) Samantha McDermott
On the evening of November 10th, 2011, D Division First Year Cadets were introduced to their first Mess Dinner at the Senior Officers Mess.
The cadets had the opportunity to socialize with esteemed guests, including the Guest of Honour, Commodore (ret’d) Ed Murray. They were also taught the structure of a formal Mess Dinner.
After the head table was marched in by the piper, the instructional Mess Dinner began. The cadets and guests listened to the introduction of the Guest of Honour by OCdt Sheasby, and finally the speech from the Guest of Honour himself. Conversations between guests and cadets commenced during meal time, and the dinner portion of the evening came to a close with the traditional toasts and Regimental Marches.
Before the evening came to a close, the First Year Flights each performed a skit sharing their experiences during FYOP. This was followed by the Pipes and Drums, as well as the Highland Dancers. The concluding performance of the night was a traditional drum performance by ALOY.
