Its name was not RRMC in the 50s. Along with 88 others who arrived on the upper circle in 1957, I attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads, Canservcol Royal Roads.

In 1958 I was one of about 15 Cadet Officers who waited at attention at the upper circle to welcome the Recruit Class, much as Digger described for his class arriving in 1957. When the buses arrived, we stood “fierce and proud “ as had our seniors the previous year. Several weeks later, in the Cadet Canteen, I was approached by one of the Recruits. He told me that he had been in the ranks on arrival, and had seen a bee crawling around my face. He said, “You didn’t move a muscle, and I got very nervous about who these 15 people were, and what had I got myself into “.
