4956 Peter James Rosewarn (RRMC-RMC 1960)

ROSEWARN , Peter James November 11, 1939 – May 19, 2009 Peter will be missed deeply by his wife Edith, his son Jeffrey (Donna) and his daughter Christine (Kevin); grandchildren Bryan, Tyra, Joel, Harrison and Bennett, also relatives and many good friends. Peter was predeceased by his father James and mother Bertha. Peter was born in Lethbridge and grew up in Coutts, Alberta. He went to Military College at Royal Roads and Kingston and served in Germany for three years. Peter furthered his education and worked for the Public Board of Education for thirty-four years as an Administrator. He also coached basketball, volleyball and soccer at times and loved it. Peter played basketball for many years and golfed and curled after his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed the last two winters in Arizona with lots of golf and swimming outdoors and taking hikes in the desert. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta. 2819 Charles Edward Whitten (RMC 1942)

CHARLES EDWARD WHITTEN, BSc. Mil., B.A.Sc., P.Eng. (RMC 2819), at Toronto on May 21st after a short illness. Born April 29, 1923 in Montreal, son of the late Charles and Anne Whitten, beloved husband of Mary (Clarkson) for sixty years, brother of John B. “Jack” (Lynn). Loving father of David (Deborah), Stephen (Jody) and Joan (John Miller). Grandfather to Tara and Alan Whitten, Kelsy and Trevor Whitten, and John, Doug, and Mary Miller. Survived by his cousin Jean, nieces Janet Whitten and Ann Clarkson and nephew John Clarkson, also remembered by Bev Whitten.

Graduated from UCC (‘40), RMC (’42) and University of Toronto (’48), Zeta Psi brother. Served with Royal Canadian Engineers and Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada during WWII reaching the rank of Captain. Received the CVSM & Clasp, 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star, Defense Medal; part of Canadian Forces liberation of Holland.

After graduating from U of T, Chuck worked at Canadian Car and Foundry in Montreal returning to Toronto in 1951, to work at Continental Can of Canada, rising to the level of Mill Manager. He then began a long career at Canadian Wallpaper (Reed) reaching the position of V.P. of Manufacturing. He also worked as a project manager for Reed Limited and later as a consultant.

Chuck was, at various times, a scoutmaster and a member of the Lions’ Club and the Royal Canadian Legion. He was an avid skier and sailor. He and Mary loved to travel but their favourite thing to do was to spend time at the family cottage in Muskoka. Chuck had a great network of friends and supporters who will miss his outgoing and entertaining manner.

Friends may call at the Trull Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 2704 Yonge Street (5 blocks south of Lawrence) on Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock. 7633 Marvin Beckett (RMC 1968)

Passed away, peacefully, after a long illness, on Monday, May 25, 2009 at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 65.
Husband of Linda (nee Mercel-Steinberg). Dear father of Christopher and wife Jennifer of Waterloo and Stephanie Wilson and husband Geoff of Kitchener. Step-father of Sheri and husband Mark Nickel and Rob Steinberg and wife Denise of Toronto. Grandpa to Jayden, Barett, Delphine, Davis and Allison. Brother of Diane McKinlay and husband Alan of Toronto and Patrick and wife Linda of Kingston. Brother-in-law to Kathy Beckett of Whitby, Barbara DeHarte and Louise Piotrowicz of Hamilton. Son-in-law to William DeHarte of Hamilton.
Sadly missed by many loving nieces and nephews and cat, Ariel.
Predeceased by his first wife Diane (nee DeHarte), brother Brian Beckett, parents Joyce and Gord Beckett of Hamilton and mother-in-law Margaret DeHarte.
Marv was a graduate of the Royal Military College and served with the Canadian Armed Forces until 1974. He then began his 35 year career at Manulife. He was a big participant and supporter of the Manulife Ride for Heart. Marv was an actively involved member of Westminster United Church in Waterloo.
Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Marv with his family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, May 27 from 6-9 pm and on Thursday, May 28 from 3-3:45 pm. The memorial service to celebrate Marv’s life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 4 pm, Thursday with Rev. Mary Savage officiating. A reception will follow the service in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room.
Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to a charity of choice by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. In living memory of Marv, a donation will be made by the funeral home to the Trees for Learning Program.

Donna Bernice (Wallace) Peacock – wife of 3003 Bob Peacock
PEACOCK, Donna Bernice (nee Wallace) Born Hamilton, ON, September 20, 1929, died North Saanich, May 25, 2009. Survived by husband Bob, son David, godson Roderick Macintosh, his wife Heatherann and family. at Donna’s request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers donations to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation or Victoria Hospice would be appreciated.
