Diplomatic Appointments – Peter Lundy (BA Honours [History and Political Science], Royal Military College of Canada, 1986

peter-lundy.JPG15539 Peter Lundy (BA Honours [History and Political Science], Royal Military College of Canada, ’86; MBA [International Business], University of British Columbia, 1993) joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 1993, having previously served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in Calgary, Winnipeg and Germany. Since joining the department, he has been posted abroad as trade commissioner in Caracas and as investment and strategic alliance program manager in Chicago. At Headquarters, he has held the positions of deputy director, Central Europe and Eastern Mediterranean Division, and senior desk officer in the South America and the International Finance divisions. He is currently director of the Nordic, Central Europe and Eastern Mediterranean Division. Peter Lundy succeeds Fredericka Gregory.

Class of 79 taking over???

On 10 June, shortly after the announcement of his appointment as CDS, a few of 12320 Gen Walt Natynczyk’s Class of 79 mates gathered at the Navy Mess in Ottawa to wish him well in his coming endeavours (he’s the one with the biggest grin, standing fourth from the right).

On a recent visit to Maritime Forces Pacific Headquarters in Esquimalt, BC, the Navy’s Command Historian, 12173, Dr Richard Gimblett (RMC ’79) (on the right in the photo, also Secretary of the Class of 79) confirmed that the command of the West Coast is in the very good hands of other classmates (from left): 12149 Captain(N) Peter Avis (RMC ’79), Commander Maritime Operations Group 4; 12287 Commodore Richard Greenwood (RRMC RMC ’79), Director-General Maritime Engineering Program Management; 12324 Rear-Admiral Ty Pile (RRMC RMC ’79), Commander Maritime Forces Pacific; and 12286 Commodore Nigel Greenwood (RRMC ’79), Commander Canadian Fleet Pacific.
