The best of the best in CF sports and fitness will gather in Ottawa November 22 for the annual CF Sports Awards Ceremony. Among the incredible athletes who have made it to the finals as nominees for CF Male Athlete of the Year:11338 Major Bruce B Barteaux (RMC 1978), the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff nominee, is a talented athlete and a dynamic competitor in the sport of running. In 2007, he raced more than 600 kilometres in a variety of distances from the 10-km road to the 125-km extreme terrain.

23809 Lieutenant Erich R Kuehnle (RMC 2007) the Chief Military Personnel nominee, has a passion for Taekwondo. Ranked as high as fourth in the Canadian Middleweight Division in 2007, he received the Outstanding Athlete Award at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) Sports Award Ceremony for his achievements at the provincial and national levels. As captain of the RMC Taekwondo team, Lt Kuehnle sets an excellent example.
He is currently the Field Platoon Commander at 1 Service Battalion.
