The College started the year off right this past Thursday morning as 9 Officer Cadets received their commissions as Officers in the Canadian Forces. In front of family, friends, and honoured dignitaries, they marched on parade one last time at the College into a packed Currie Hall. Present for the occasion were the reviewing officer, LGen Peter Devlin, Commander of the Canadian Army, MGen Pierre Forgues, Commander of the Canadian Defence Academy, and BGen Eric Tremblay, College Commandant.
“Here at the College we produce officers, well-educated,” BGen Tremblay told the assembled guests. To the Cadets on parade, he said with a smile, “Well, your College tool box is now full.”
“You are joining the Officer Corps at an exciting time,” LGen Devlin added. “Afghanistan and other operations gave us the opportunity to demonstrate what we can do, and now we enter a new chapter on our road. It will be up to you to help bring in new equipment for the Army, Navy and Air Force, for example.”
