Since graduating from the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) in 2000, Jameel Janjua has forged an extraordinary path in aerospace and aviation, exemplifying the values of perseverance, service, and leadership instilled during his time at RMC.
At RMC, Jameel Janjua earned his Bachelor of Engineering and distinguished himself as a top cadet. His academic achievements and leadership were recognized with the prestigious Governor General’s Medal, awarded to the graduating student with the highest academic standing. After RMC, Jameel Janjua served as a fighter pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he honed his skills in high-stakes environments. With over 5,500 flight hours across more than 65 aircraft, his experience spans both military and civilian aviation.
Currently, Jameel Janjua is a test pilot for Virgin Galactic, an aerospace and space travel company at the forefront of human spaceflight. His leadership in experimental test flight and space missions has made him a sought-after advisor for aerospace startups, guiding them through technical and business milestones.
In addition to his engineering degree from RMC, Jameel Janjua holds a Master of Science from MIT in Aeronautics and Astronautics and an MBA from The Wharton School. This blend of technical expertise and business acumen positions him uniquely to drive innovation and growth in the aerospace sector.
Appointment to Horizon Aircraft Board of Directors
Most recently, Jameel Janjua joined the Board of Directors at Horizon Aircraft (NASDAQ: HOVR), an advanced aerospace engineering company developing one of the world’s first hybrid electric VTOL aircraft. In this role, he brings deep expertise in experimental test flight, military operations, aerospace engineering, and business growth. His leadership is helping guide Horizon Aircraft as it builds its full-scale prototype and prepares for aircraft certification, ensuring the company’s business strategy is tightly aligned with delivering the safest possible certified aircraft.
