The RMC Alumni Association is pleased to announce, thanks to the generosity of the Moffatt family, the establishment of a new endowment supporting The Moffatt Award for Excellence in Academic Leadership at RMC. The award will recognize outstanding academic leadership and highlight the important impact that academic leaders have on their students, colleagues and the broader academic community.
The award honours the legacy of 3342 Dr. W. Craig Moffatt, one of RMC’s distinguished graduates and longtime members of its academic community. A 1955 Mechanical Engineering graduate, Dr. Moffatt returned to RMC as a professor in 1966 and went on to serve as Head of Mechanical Engineering and later Dean of Engineering. He was also the inaugural recipient of the Class of 1965 Teaching Excellence Award in 1992.
Throughout his career, Dr. Moffatt was known not only for excellence in teaching and research, but for the influence he had on generations of students and colleagues through mentorship, leadership and example.

Great to name an award for Dr Moffatt; he was my best prof ever. I teach HVAC engineering to engineers and technicians, and I can often hear myself repeat lessons he taught us, using the same examples.
One of my favourite profs while I was at RMC.
