The Royal Military College Hockey Program began in 1886 and continues today, pursuing the same goals it had over 130 years ago; carve out leaders of integrity who succeed in life aided by their experience on the fields of athletic conflict.

RMC has a rich history as a Military College, as an academic institution and within its athletics program.

The Challenge Cup takes place between RMC and its prestigious US counter part, The US Military Academy (Westpoint-US Army). The Challenge Cup is recorded as the longest-running annual international hockey game in the world. It began in 1923 and has continued annually and alternates being played at USMA-Tate Arena (Westpoint, NY) and RMC-Kingston, Ontario in front of capacity crowds.

For the first time since 2020, West Point returns to Kingston to participate in the highly anticipated Challenge Cup! This family-friendly event unites alumni and future alumni from all generations, providing an opportunity to connect and celebrate a storied rivalry.

Watch as the RMC Paladins face off against the United States Military Academy’s Army Black Knights in an exciting hockey showdown.
