Dr. Lloyd James Dempsey, PhD is a member of the Board of Governors at the Royal Military College of Canada. Dr. James Dempsey attended the Universities of Alberta and Calgary where he obtained his BA and MA in history. He subsequently earned his Ph.D. at the University of East Anglia, England, in 2001. Dr. Dempsey arrived at the University of Alberta in 1992 as the new Director of the School of Native Studies (now Faculty of Native Studies). Previously, he was the Acting Dean for the Saskatoon Campus of the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College (now First Nations University of Canada). His book, Warriors of the King: Prairie Indians in World War I, was published in 1999, and he has written extensively on Aboriginal history and culture for over twenty five years. He is currently conducting research in the fields of warrior art, Blackfoot history and culture, Plains Indian history and culture, and Indian Veterans. Dr. Dempsey is a member of the Blood Indian Tribe of southern Alberta and was born in Calgary, Alberta.

James Dempsey a obtenu un baccalauréat et une maîtrise en histoire aux universités de l’Alberta et de Calgary respectivement. En 2001, il a passé son doctorat à l’Université d’East Anglia, en Angleterre. M. Dempsey s’est joint au personnel de l’Université de l’Alberta en 1992 en tant que directeur de l’École sur les études autochtones (désormais Faculté des études autochtones). Il était auparavant doyen intérimaire du campus de Saskatoon du Saskatchewan Indian Federated College (maintenant First Nations University of Canada). Dr. Anne Irwin, PhD is a member of the Board of Governors at the Royal Military College of Canada. Dr Irwin holds a master’s degree in anthropology from the University of Calgary and a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester. She has served in the CF Reserves, and is a graduate of Militia Command and Staff College. Dr Irwin holds the Canadian Defence and Foreign Affairs Institute Chair in Civil-Military Relations at the University of Calgary, with a joint appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies.

Mme Irwin a obtenu une maîtrise en anthropologie de l’Université de Calgary et un doctorat en anthropologie sociale de l’Université de Manchester. Elle a été membre de la Réserve des FC et a suivi le cours de commandement et d’état-major de la Milice. Mme Irwin est titulaire de la chaire en relations civilo-militaires du Canadian Defence and Foreign Affairs Institute à l’Université de Calgary et est professeure adjointe au département d’anthropologie et au Centre for Military and Strategic Studies.

Dr. Gérard Hervouet, PhD is a member of the Board of Governors at the Royal Military College of Canada. With a PhD in Political Science (Paris, Panthéon Sorbonne), Gérard Hervouet is Directeur du Programme Paix et Sécurité Internationales at l’Institut des Hautes Études Internationales, l’Université Laval. He held a professorship at l’Institut d’Études Politiques de Bordeaux (France) from 1998 to 2001, and is also President of the Canadian Consortium on Asia Pacific Security (CANCAPS).
Gérard Hervouet, PhD est une membre du Conseil des Gouverneurs au Collège militaire royal du Canada.
