As President of the Friends of the Canadian War Museum (FCWM) I am writing to express my appreciation for the support of the Royal Military College to the FCWM Used Military Book Room and in particular to acknowledge the contribution of Sarah Toomey and Lisa Béchard of the Massey library.
The support offered to the FCWM really has been significant and both Sarah and Lisa have gone to a great deal of effort. These efforts are deeply appreciated.

The FCWM Book Room Raises funds through the sale of used military history books to patrons of the Canadian War Museum (CWM) and others. The Book Room is staffed by volunteers (several of whom are ex-cadets) and operates on a zero-overhead basis. In an arrangement made between Commodore (ret’d) Robert Hamilton, our Vice-President, and your predecessor, books surplus to the needs of the Massey Library are made available to the FCWM for sale in the Book Room. Instrumental in making this effective have been the commitment and the support of the Chief Librarian, Sarah Toomey and the Head of Technical services and Systems, Lisa Béchard. With their support, the Massey Library is making a material contribution to the revenue of the FCWM, all of which provides a direct benefit to the CWM,
In recognition of their contribution, I would like to express our appreciation to Sarah and Lisa by affording them complementary membership in the FCWM. As members they will enjoy free access to the CWM and to our member lounge and they will receive our regular newsletter, the Torch, as well as our electronic bulletins.
I have written separately to Sarah and Lisa to express our appreciation, to inform them of our action, and to welcome them as members to the FCWM. If, in your capacity as Commandant, an opportunity were to present and you would see fit to make public mention of their contribution and the appreciation of the FCWM, I would be most grateful.
