Researchers at RMC, Queen’s share $16.7 million
The Principal, Dr Harry Kowal, and Vice-Principal Research, Dr Pat Heffernan, pass along their sincere congratulations to both Dr Valerie Langlois and Dr Cecile Malardier-Jugroot for their prestigious recognition as a Tier II Canada Research Chairs. “We are tremendously proud to have professors of this quality recognized in this way at the Royal Military College of Canada. Well done!”

Dr. Harry Kowal (Principal), Ms. Lisa McCarthy (Financial Manager) and Robert Paquet (Language Centre) (photographer) were
the cheering supporters Friday morning (12 June) when a daring group of runners representing the College took part in the Cannonball Rush at Fort Henry, a grueling obstacle course up and down the hill. The team’s name (“Twisted Blisters”) only made sense to people familiar with 80’s hard rock. Ms. Brenda Piazza (Continuing Studies) and Ms. Laurie Sinon (Faculty Services) were also involved, manning the water station. It was a great event and even though the motto of RMCC’s team was “We’re not gonna make it” (another reference to a different era), the runners actually completed the run faster than anticipated!

Une équipe du CMRC participe à la course «Cannonball Rush» et prend d’assaut le Fort Henry
M. Harry Kowal, Ph.D. (Recteur), Mme Lisa McCarthy (Directrice financière) et Robert Paquet (Centre des langues) sont allés encourager, vendredi matin (le 12 juin), un courageux groupe de coureurs représentant le Collège alors qu’ils participaient au «Cannonball Rush» au Fort Henry, une exténuante course à obstacles tout autour de la colline. Le nom de l’équipe («Twisted Blisters») n’avait de sens que pour les gens familiers avec le hard rock des années 1980. Mme. Brenda Piazza (Études permanentes) et Mme. Laurie Sinon (Services au corps professoral) étaient aussi de la partie, au poste d’eau. Ce fut un succès sur toute la ligne et même si la devise de l’équipe du CMRC était «We’re not going to make it» (une autre référence à une époque lointaine), les coureurs ont en fait complété l’épreuve plus vite que prévu !
