Who Is He?

  • Born in Croyden, England.
  • Spent two years at Royal Roads and was easily the backbone of the Roads basketball team for two years.
  • Team Captain and high scorer for the RMC basketball team in IV Year.
  • Spent his final year at C.F.L “C” Flight in the Stone Frigate – where he always reminded rookies of the proud Heritage of S.F.M.A
  • Has contributed significantly to the development of the Canadian aerospace industry.
  • After holding several senior positions in the federal public service, in 1987 he joined a Canadian conglomerate, founded in 1942, at Valcourt in the Eastern Townships, Quebec.
  • While he was president of the Aerospace Division of this conglomerate —and, subsequently, its chief executive officer—the company became a leader in the regional jet and business aircraft markets and the third-largest civil aerospace company in the world.
  • He is also known for his community leadership, he has led fundraising campaigns for l’Université de Montréal, McGill University, the United Way and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Former president and chief executive officer of Bombardier Aerospace 7344 Robert Brown (RRMC RMC 1967) is awarded the rank of Member in the Order of Canada by Governor General Michaelle Jean at Rideau Hall in Ottawa November 5, 2009. The award recognizes outstanding achievement and service in various fields of human endeavour and is the country’s highest honor for lifetime achievement.
