11th Annual CDA Institute Graduate Student Symposium
We would like to draw your attention to the 11th Annual CDA Institute Graduate Student Symposium, to be held October 31st – November 1st at Currie Hall, the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario. This year’s theme is “Canada’s Security Interests.”
The two keynote speakers will be Mr. Mel Cappe, President of Institute for Research on Public Policy, who will speak on “Defence of Canada – Who Cares?” and Senator Hugh Segal, who will speak on “NATO and the New Russian Reality: Coming to Terms.,”
The Symposium features 38 graduate-level presentations, which will be delivered over two days on ten panels.

We look forward to this year’s strong field of presenters. Prizes include $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 for the top three presenters, book prizes, and this year we are very pleased that NATO will be hosting the top five presenters at the NATO Summit in Strasbourg-Kehl, in April/May of 2009.

11e symposium annuel des étudiants diplômés de l’Institut de la CAD
Nous aimerions attirer votre attention sur le 11e symposium annuel des étudiants diplômés de l’Institut de la CAD, qui se tiendra le 31 octobre et le 1er novembre à la Salle Currie, du Collège militaire royal de Kingston (ON). Le thème de cette année porte sur « Les intérêts du Canada en matière de sécurité ».
Les deux conférenciers invités seront M. Mel Cappe, président de l’Institut de recherche en politiques publiques, qui traitera de « La défense du Canada – on s’en fiche ! » et le Sénateur Hugh Segal, qui parlera de « L’OTAN et la nouvelle réalité russe : en venir à une entente. »

Nous attendons avec un vif intérêt de voir à l’oeuvre ce groupe de solides présentateurs. Les trois présentateurs qui se classeront en tête recevront des prix de 3 000 $, 2 000 $ et 1 000 $ respectivement, et il y aura des prix sous forme de livres ; nous sommes aussi très heureux, cette année, que l’OTAN reçoive les cinq premiers présentateurs au Sommet de l’OTAN qui se tiendra à Strasbourg-Kehl, en avril/mai 2009.
