The Canadian Military Colleges (CMC) are calling on environmental occupations and Level 1 Supervisors (L1s) to submit lists of Operational Job Experience (OJE) opportunities for Naval and Officer Cadets (N/OCDTs) as part of their summer training for 2025.
The program, designed to provide N/OCDTs with hands-on exposure to operational military environments, will run from May 20, 2025, to Aug. 10, 2025, across various CMC locations, including the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) in Kingston and the Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean (CMRSJ).
“N/OCDTs are assigned OJE taskings when they are unable to attend individual training in accordance with the normal training progression (i.e. BMOQ, language training, environmental training, MOSID specific career training). In accordance with the reference: for OJE, N/OCDTs will be attached to units of their respective services. There, they should be made to experience life in operational units, be mentored by appropriate leadership, and be exposed to sailors, soldiers, and aviators in order to contribute to the development of their own leadership skills. N/OCDTs will be encouraged towards placements within their own trade specifications,” stated CANFORGEN 184/24.

OJE Placements and Submission Deadline
The summer training program will involve approximately 400 OJE placements, with RMC expected to require 300 and CMRSJ 100 placements, states the military. Environmental occupations and L1s are encouraged to submit these opportunities by Feb. 28, 2025.
Submissions must include detailed placement descriptions, including preferred Military Occupational Specializations (MOSIDs), language and security clearance requirements, and logistical details such as rations and quarters, according to the CANFORGEN.
Submissions can be made through email to RMC or CMRSJ. To ensure a smooth placement process, L1 Supervisors are advised to consolidate requests through a centralized point of contact.
