The Royal Military Colleges of Canada Alumni Association is proud to celebrate Colonel Angie Thomas (RMC Class of 2003) on her appointment as Commander of 14 Wing Greenwood, one of the Royal Canadian Air Force’s most important operational wings and a community she has called home throughout much of her career.

A distinguished aerospace leader and dedicated officer, Colonel Thomas has built an impressive career marked by operational excellence, professional achievement, and a steadfast commitment to service. Her journey from Officer Cadet at the Royal Military College of Canada to Wing Commander reflects the values of Truth, Duty, Valour that continue to shape generations of RMC graduates.

For Colonel Thomas, this appointment is also something of a homecoming. Over the course of her career, she has served with 404, 405, and 415 Squadrons, as well as the former Maritime Proving and Evaluation Unit, spending nearly 15 years contributing to the operational success of 14 Wing Greenwood.

Upon assuming command, Colonel Thomas reflected on the privilege and responsibility of leadership:

“It is a tremendous honour to assume command of 14 Wing: a team renowned for professionalism and commitment to service. This is a privilege I do not take lightly, and I am committed to earning your trust every day.”

Her words reflect the leadership philosophy that has defined her career: leading with humility, building trust, and empowering others to succeed.

As Commander of 14 Wing Greenwood, Colonel Thomas will lead the military and civilian personnel who support critical domestic and international operations, search and rescue missions, and maritime aviation capabilities. Her appointment stands as an example of the impact RMC graduates continue to have across the Canadian Armed Forces.

Congratulations, Colonel Angie Thomas. Your RMC family is proud of your accomplishments and inspired by your continued leadership in service to Canada.
