M0436 Maj (Ret) William (Bill) Curry, BEng Comp, RRMC/RMC, Class of ’89, died on Sunday 27 Oct as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Pembroke.

The Pembroke Today carried the news.

Passed away after a motorcycle accident on October 27, 2013. Son of the late George and Lila Muriel. Beloved wife of 31 years Marie (Picard). Cherished father of Timothy, Matthieu, André and Nicole. Brother of Sharon (Al Hollingsworth) and Deborah (John Berg). Bill will be also missed by his parents- in-law: Albert and Madeline Picard, his brother-in-law, his sister-in-law as well as many nephews, nieces and friends. Family and Friends are invited to Beechwood, Cemetery and Funeral Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue (east of Vanier Parkway), on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 2 p.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Sacred Space at 4 p.m. For those who wish, donations to the Royal Ottawa Hospital would be appreciated. We recently received word that 7389 Dave Knapton (Class of 1967) passed away 9 Aug 2013 as a result of injuries sustained in a two vehicle collision on Highway 28, just outside the Town of Smoky Lake, Alberta.

We were unable to find an obituary but did manage to find an article on the accident.

Patrick John Stuart Higgs – Royal Roads A14

Pat Higgs passed away in Victoria, B.C. On Sept. 8, 2013. Predeceased by his brother, Roger, Pat leaves to remember him Constance, his wife of 60 years; his children, Patricia (Lawrence), Pamela, Melinda, Richard (Louise); his granddaughter Meghan and many extended family and friends. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Pat was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets where he started flying while in High School. He entered Military College in 1947 as an officer cadet in what was then RCN – RCAF College Royal Roads and graduated in 1949. Following graduation he immediately entered pilot training with the RCAF at Centralia, ON and never looked back. His progression as a fighter pilot took him, and his family to Germany in the 1960’s. Pat’s fondest memories were of 422 Squadron of which he was Squadron Leader (F86 Sabre) in 4 Wing, Baden Sollingen, Germany and of 3 Wing, Zweibrucken, Germany where he was Wing Commander of 427 Squadron (CF104 Starfighter). Upon retirement from the RCAF his public service continued with Transport Canada from which he retired in the mid 1980’s, at which time he and Connie retired to Victoria, B.C. His community service continued into retirement with activity in the Kiwanis Club of Canada.
