RMC Soccer and Coaching the Coaches are thrilled to announce the 2010 Soccer Coaching Clinic Staff Starting Lineup. The third year of this Clinic will be held from Saturday, Feb 13th to Sunday February 14th, 2010 in Kingston. The weekend fee includes Saturday evening coaches&#8217 social, Saturday full luncheon at RMC and numerous Soccer Company exhibitors.   This event is hosted by Royal Military College Men’s Soccer Team and sponsored by Tourism Kingston and Investors Group.  More

Du 4 au 5 mars 2010, le Département d’histoire du Collège militaire royal du Canada à Kingston sera l’hôte d’un colloque francophone ayant pour thème « La guerre : catalyseur de changements sociaux au Canada ». Le jeudi 4 mars, les conférences auront lieu de 13h15 à 16h45, et un vin d’honneur sera servi à 18h00, suivi d’un souper au Mess des officiers. Le vendredi 5 mars, la journée débutera à 9h00 pour se terminer à 12h15. Le thème abordé sera l’étude de la guerre, non pas comme histoire-bataille, mais comme moteur de changements sociaux. Les conférenciers exploreront les différents impacts de la guerre sur la société du Canada et ailleurs dans le monde. Le coût de l’inscription est de 50$ pour tous, incluant le souper du jeudi soir au Mess. Pour ceux qui ne désirent pas participer au souper, le coût de l’inscription est de 20$. L’inscription peut se faire à l’entrée ou à l’avance en faisant parvenir un chèque par la poste libellé au Mess des officiers, Collège militaire royal de Kingston, au plus tard le 1er mars 2010 à l’adresse suivante :

“The War, Catalyst of Socials Changes in Canada”

On March 4th and 5th, 2010, the History department of the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston will be hosting a francophone symposium with the theme: “The War, Catalyst of Socials Changes in Canada”. Thursday the 4th, the Conferences will take place between 13h15 and 16h45, and a cocktail will be served at 18h00, followed by a diner at the Senior Staff Mess. On Friday the 5th, the activities will commence at 9h00 and will conclude at 12h15. The approach to the theme will be a study of war, not as a battle-history, but as a motor of social changes. The speakers will explore different impacts of war on the society of Canada and elsewhere in the world. The cost of registration is 50$ for everyone including the supper. The cost is 20$ excluding the supper. You could register by mail by sending supper a cheque (payable to Senior Staff Mess, Royal Military College of Kingson) or you could pay at the entry. Leo the cadet

Toronto Operetta Theatre revives its popular production of Canada’s own operetta, Leo, the Royal Cadet (1889) by Oscar Telgmann with 4 performances February 17 to 21. Leo, The Royal Cadet is starring Kristen Galer, Gabrielle Prata, Cory O&Brien and Robert Longo, with conductor John Greer. The tuneful tale follows the lives of cadets at the Royal Military College in Kingston, their departure for the Zulu Wars in South Africa and their return home. The productions are staged by renowned director Guillermo Silva-Marin, with TOT vocal ensemble and orchestra at the Jane Mallett Theatre 27 Front Street East, Toronto.  Source guillermo@torontooperetta.com
