He is well known in the soccer world of the Canadian Forces having played and coached in numerous Regional and National tournaments including coaching the first ever national women soccer champions in 2008 and assisting with the 2001 Nova Scotia Canada Games Men’s Team.
He was selected, in 2003, for an exchange position with the US Navy in Pascagoula, Mississippi, where he served as the Production Officer for the construction of seven AEGIS Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by the US Secretary of the Navy.
In March 2011, he was appointed as Commander of Task Force Libeccio, the Canadian Air Component to Operation Unified Protector, the NATO-led effort to enforce the no-fly zone over Libya. Since his return, Colonel Pelletier is now the Director of Air Requirements in National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa.
In 1994 he attended the British Army Command and Staff Course, in Camberley, United Kingdom.

He served with the United Nations Mission in Haiti as Commanding Officer of the Canadian Airfield Engineering Squadron.
He was posted to the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario as a Squadron Commander in 1996.
Deployed to Pakistan in the late 1980s to teach mine awareness to Afghan women and children who had sought refuge there during the war.
Between May and Jul 1998, he was tasked as OC Op SARNO, the CF disaster response mission sent to provide humanitarian aid and assistance in the wake of devastating mudslides which wiped out a number of towns in central Italy.
His command experience extends to three international operations; platoon commander in Cyprus in 1985, infantry company group commander in Bosnia 1996 and, more recently, unit commanding officer (Operational Mentor and Liaison Team) in Afghanistan in 2008, for which he received a Meritorious Service Medal for leadership and professionalism.
During the summer of 1990, he was posted to La Citadelle, Québec, as the Signals Officer for the Second Battalion Royal 22e Régiment (2R22eR), where he was the Signals Officer for the St-Benoit/Oka sector during the Oka crisis.
He holds a Master degree in Defence Studies and a Master degree in Management of Information System from the Université du Québec à Montréal; his thesis addressed the issue of firewall architecture, simulation and performance.
