Le 18 avril dernier, le CMR Saint-Jean a tenu la traditionnelle compétition d’exercice élémentaire et de garde aux drapeaux. Les escadrons ont débuté la compétition en se faisant d’abord inspecter par le commandant et l’adjudant-chef du Collège. Après un tirage au sort, la compétition d’exercice élémentaire a débuté, suivie de la compétition de garde aux drapeaux. Les Anciens du Collège, ainsi que les parents et amis des élèves-officiers étaient invités à assister à cette compétition haute en couleur. Deux trophées ont été décernés : le Navy Bowl à l’escadron d’Iberville, l’équipe gagnante de l’exercice élémentaire, communément appelé «Drill», et le Trophée Adjudant-Chef Beaudoin, remis aux gagnants de la compétition de garde aux drapeaux, l’escadron Tracy. En plus de se voir remettre un trophée, l’équipe gagnante de la compétition de garde aux drapeaux sera désignée comme garde aux drapeaux officielle du CMR Saint-Jean lors du défilé de fin d’année. Afin de garantir l’impartialité des juges pour cette compétition, ces derniers étaient tous issus de l’Institut de la profession des armes Adjudant-chef Osside.
Drill and Flag Party Competition held at RMC Saint-Jean on 18 April
On April 18, The Royal Military College Saint-Jean held its traditional Drill and Flag Party Competition. The competition started with the inspection of the officer cadets by the Commandant and Chief Warrant Officer of the College. After a draw to determine the starting teams, the Drill Competition was held followed by the Flag Party Competition. RMC Saint-Jean Ex-Cadets, parents and friends of OCdts were invited to attend this spectacular competition. Two trophies were presented to the winners: the Navy Bowl Trophy was awarded to the winning team of the Drill Competition, d’Iberville Squadron, and the Chief Warrant Officer Beaudoin Trophy was presented to Tracy Squadron, the winners of the Flag Party Competition. In addition to receiving this trophy, the winning team of the Flag Party Competition will be designated as RMC Saint-Jean’s official Flag Party at the End of Year parade. For this competition, judges were selected among Chief Warrant Officer Osside Profession of Arms Institute in order to ensure their impartiality.
