15133 LCdr Wade Knorr (RRMC RMC 1985) CD1,
LCdr Wade Knorr will retire on 24 February 2007, after 26+ years of dedicated service to the Canadian Forces, the Navy, and the MARE Branch. A retirement reception was held for him 18 Jan. During his 26 years of service LCDR Knorr acquired two degrees. His first degree, a BEng, was earned by splitting his time between RRMC and RMC. His second degree, a masters of science, was earned attending the University of Arizona. He completed his initial training on the west coast, sailing on HMCS Mackenzie, before moving to Halifax to complete cse phase training. He completed his phase vi and a/cseo training on HMCS Ottawa and then worked ashore for four years at the naval engineering unit atlantic (neu(a)) before returning to sea on HMCS Nipigon as the cseo hod from 1993 to 1995 and then onwards to Tucson, Arizona for post-graduate studies. Upon completing studies LCdr Knorr was posted to Ottawa where he worked for DGMEPM, PMO MASIS and Canada Command in succession. He recently returned to Ottawa from attending the JCSP course in Toronto. Wade intends to remain in Ottawa with his wife Ann and his four daughters. He will be staying within the material group as he has accepted an engineering position within DGMSSC / DMPP.
