With the support of the RMC Alumni Association the RMC Expedition Club was able to go on several adventures that taught us new skills and allowed us to explore new places within Canada and abroad. With the funding provided, members were able to go on several trips, including Mount Washington and the Adirondacks in the United States, Patagonia in Argentina and many locations in Quebec as well as in Ontario.
In addition to being able to plan and execute the trips this year, the club was also able to acquire new equipment to help support club initiatives. These purchases included helmets, ATC’s for climbing, sleeping bags and some new hiking poles. These will help make future group trips more accessible for club members. With the help of Richard Corneau and other 3rd and 4th year students, the club was also able to take on a new cohort of junior mountaineers and teach them skills that they will be able to use on trips in the future.
Funding from the Alumni Association allows club members not only to participate in trips but also help organize them, developing valuable leadership skills which will help N/OCdts in their future endeavours as officers in the CAF. We thank you for your continued support of the RMC Expedition Club and look forward to expanding the club given the resources provided by your generous funding.
Thank you,
RMC Expedition Club Executive Team
