This afternoon the cadet wing marched into Richardson Stadium to see our team play the Queen’s intermediates. A trumpet band from Trenton came down and played for the parade and game. We kept up a large amount of cheering for the entire game and I think the fanfare attracted a lot of spectators who wouldn’t have come otherwise. We lost to Queen’s. Held a dance that night to show we had no bad feelings.

Church parade into town this morning and dinner at McDougall’s afterwards. Drove out to see some glider flying at the flying club. Mother and Dad arrived on their way to Montreal and treated Fritz and I to a big dinner downtown. Also brought a good supply of food.

Mother and Dad stopped in again on their way home. Mid term tests this week so not getting much sleep.

Barry Hercus and I saw McGill play Queen’s today. McGill won 42-15. Our rugby team played Carleton College and won, the soccer team played Varsity and lost. Quite a few were away on leave also, so that there weren’t many on parade.

RMC sent a representative track team to Montreal on a few day’s notice and we placed second in the meet! Fritz won the three-mile and Palle Kiar did very well. Next year we should do better if a full team is sent.

This afternoon we played No. 2 Squadron at soccer and lost 1-0. I think the standard of soccer at the squadron level has gone up considerably from last year. It’s good fun and I wish we had more inter-squadron games this year.

The third copy of the “Marker” came out today with eight pages. It is our best effort yet and we hope to keep it at that level. Yesterday, the seniors shifted around their appointments. Wallis, from Royal Roads is now C.W.C.; in fact most of the appointments this time have gone to Royal Roads chaps. We had a short parade for the handing-over ceremony and the Brigadier gave us a short pep-talk. He isn’t satisfied with the turnout of the wing and wants us to buckle down more to create a better impression in Kingston.

Bob Fraleigh blew into town tonight and a small gang of us went to a party at K.G.H., which turned out to be a lot of fun. Bob seems to be enjoying life at Western very much. Our soccer team played the Varsity Seniors here this afternoon and lost 2-0. Tom Boadhurst was playing for them.
