In 1989, Captain Sharon Lynn Donnelly became RMC’s inaugural recipient of the Kelly Gawne Memorial Cup, awarded annually to the best all-around female athlete at RMC.
Donnelly went on to represent Canada throughout an exceptional career as a triathlete; winning Gold at the 1999 Pan American Games, competing in the Sydney’s 2000 Summer Olympics and at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, in U.K. She was inducted to the Athletic Wall of Distinction at RMC in 2018.

En 1989, la capitaine Sharon Lynn Donnelly devient la première récipiendaire de la coupe commémorative Kelly Gawne, décernée chaque année à la meilleure athlète féminine du CMR, toutes catégories confondues.
Donnelly représente ensuite le Canada tout au long d’une carrière exceptionnelle en tant que triathlète. Elle remporte l’or aux Jeux panaméricains de 1999, participe aux Jeux olympiques d’été de 2000 à Sydney et aux Jeux du Commonwealth de 2002 à Manchester, et est intronisée au Mur de la renommée sportive du CMR en 2018.
