A pair of firsts!
In 1986 Officer Cadet Daryl Tremain became the first woman to be appointed cadet wing commander.
Ocdt Tremain also became the first woman to be presented the Van der Smissen Ridout Memorial, awarded to the graduating Regular Officer Training Plan naval or officer cadet attaining highest standards in each of the four pillars of the the Royal Military College programme.
In 1988, OCdt Susan Whitley became the first woman to command the graduation parade. She was also the first woman in RMC history to receive the Sword of Honour which is awarded to the ROTP Naval or Officer cadet of the graduating class who best combines high standards of proficiency in each of the four pillars of the RMC programme.
Deux premières!
En 1986, l’élève-officière Daryl Tremain devient la première femme à être nommée commandant de l’Escadre des élèves-officiers.
L’Élof Tremain est également la première femme à recevoir le prix commémoratif Van der Smissen-Ridout, décerné à l’aspm/élof du Programme de formation des officiers, Force régulière (PFOR) ayant atteint le niveau le plus élevé dans chacun des quatre piliers du programme du Collège militaire royal.
En 1988, l’Élof Susan Whitley devient quant à elle la première femme à diriger la parade de graduation. Elle est également la première femme de l’histoire du CMR à recevoir le Sabre d’honneur, décerné à l’aspm/élof de la promotion finissante du PFOR qui a le meilleur niveau de compétence global dans les quatre piliers du programme du CMR.
