RMC graduates have answered Canada’s call from the Boer War to the First and Second World Wars, including Normandy and Sicily, through Korea, the Cold War, peacekeeping, the Balkans, Rwanda, Haiti, and Afghanistan. In each generation, they have served and led Canadians through uncertainty, danger, and war.

Royal Military College of Canada Welcomes New Commandant

His senior appointments have included service at 1 Wing Headquarters in Kingston as A7 responsible for standards, training, doctrine and acquisitions, and at NATO Allied Air Command Headquarters in Ramstein, Germany, as an Air Operations Planning Group Leader within the Strategy Division. In 2017, he assumed command of 430 Squadron in Valcartier and later deployed to Mali on Operation PRÉSENCE as Commanding Officer of Task Force Mali Aviation Battalion Roto 1.

CAF and Royal Roads University formalize new subsidized education pathway

Beginning in September 2026, the Subsidized University Training List – Enhanced Pathway (SUTL‑EP) will welcome approximately 40 Naval and Officer Cadets to Royal Roads University as part of a structured, residential cohort. The initiative is designed to complement existing officer programs, including the Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP) at Canada’s military colleges and civilian universities. The pathway will initially be open to ROTP candidates and will expand to include the University Training Plan for Non-Commissioned Members (UTPNCM) in future phases.

RMC Announces Guy Dubé as New Director of Athletics!

Although in a new role, Dubé is one of the longest tenured staff within the RMC Athletic Department, having been with the college since June 2000.

To go along with his more than 25 years of experience at RMC, Dubé has also twice represented the Paladins on the world stage, taking part in the 2019 Napoli FISU Summer Games, as well as the 2025 Rhine-Ruhr FISU Summer Games.

The RMC Combat Weapons Team is a competitive shooting team that represents the college at national and international shooting competitions. It builds confident, capable leaders through marksmanship training, competition, and teamwork. More than shooting, it’s about composure under pressure and the pursuit of excellence.

6th International Forum for Peace, Security, and Prosperity (IFPSP) in Palermo, Italy, from March 22–25

RMC was exceptionally well represented by OCdts J.D. Comegys and James Lawson, Cpl Patrick Marsalek, and NCdt Nahian Khan, who participated in academic panels, workshops, the March for Peace, and collaborative discussions with peers from around the world. The delegation was also pleased to reconnect with Dr. Hal Klepak, Professor Emeritus of History and Strategy at RMC, who addressed the forum and mentored participants. Col Dr. Coombs served as Academic Organizing Chair, helping shape the forum’s themes, speakers, and workshops, while also presenting on Canadian perspectives on military resilience and leadership through the historical example of the Medok Pocket. In a particularly meaningful moment, he shared Canadian Second World War medals belonging to a soldier who served in the Italian Campaign, offering cadets a tangible connection to history. Dr. Rossy returned for a second consecutive year as emcee of the forum, served on the Academic Planning Committee, and led a student plenary where cadets from participating nations reflected on the future of military resilience and international cooperation.
