Canadian Forces College to Launch Blended Learning Programme for Senior Officers
The new programme follows an extensive review of the distance learning model and places increased emphasis on interactive learning and sustained engagement with faculty and subject matter experts. Participants can expect more synchronous sessions, increased contact time, and improved learning outcomes, particularly in the areas of critical thinking, problem‑solving, and professional communication.
Le Tour des Collèges – Cycling Adventure Celebrating RMC’s 150th and RMC Saint-Jean’s 75th Anniversaries
To celebrate these two significant milestones, a team of ex-cadets will be cycling from RMC Saint-Jean to RMC via Ottawa, arriving at RMC during Reunion Weekend on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The team will be known as the “Older Eighteen” in homage to the “Old Eighteen,” the first class of Cadets at RMC in 1876, as these cyclists will all be somewhat older than the original cadets!
The RMC and RMC Saint-Jean Military Skills Teams Compete in Annual Sandhurst Competition May 2-3 2025
The annual two-day event will be held on May 2-3 at West Point Military Academy and showcases the military skills of the U.S. Military Academy, U.S Corps of Cadets (USCC), Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), and international teams, such as Canada, Poland, Mexico, United Kingdom, and Italy.
Celebrating 40 and 45 Years of Trailblazing Women at the Canadian Military Colleges
A military education is tough by design. For the first women to receive a military education at the Canadian Military Colleges it featured extra complexities. They entered a predominantly male environment, with some fellow cadets and even instructors who didn’t feel they should be there. They had to be tough-minded and resilient and work extra hard to prove that they belonged. They were true trailblazers, breaking ground for the generations that followed.
RMC associate professor Danielle Lussier is recognized with the Order of Ontario for her contributions to legal and post-secondary education.
Since first joining Queen’s as a cross-appointed faculty member from the Royal Military College of Canada in 2022, Dr. Lussier has always known that her commitment to students went far beyond transmitting technical knowledge. Trained in both civil law and common law, Dr. Lussier brings her Red River Métis identity onboard to educate a new generation of professionals prepared to fight a history of colonization and oppression.

Minister of National Defence Announces Colleges Review Board
Following Justice Louise Arbour’s Independent External Comprehensive Review (IECR) Report, the Minister of National Defence announced a new Military Colleges Review Board.
Minister Bill Blair announced the Board and its mandate on Dec. 6, 2023, the Board will follow up on Recommendation 28 and the first part of Recommendation 29 of the IECR Report.
Comprised of five external education and culture experts and two Department of National Defence members, the board has a year to analyze the benefits, advantages and disadvantages to the Canadian Armed Forces and Canada regarding continuing to educate Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP) naval officer cadets in Canada’s two military colleges.
