For those who have marched through the Arch, stood on the Parade Square, and carried Truth, Duty, Valour beyond the Peninsula, RMC’s 150th anniversary is more than a milestone, it is a moment of shared pride. To mark this historic year, the Royal Canadian Mint has issued a limited-edition fine silver commemorative coin honouring the College and the generations of graduates who have shaped its legacy.
RMC graduates do not need to be reminded what the College represents. The clock tower, the motto, the traditions, and the lifelong bonds formed at RMC are already part of our collective story. What many alumni may not yet know is that this milestone can now be commemorated through an official Royal Canadian Mint release created specifically for RMC’s 150th anniversary.
The 2026 $20 Fine Silver Coin – 150th Anniversary of the Royal Military College of Canada is struck in 1 oz. of 99.99% pure silver, features a proof finish, and has a limited worldwide mintage of only 6,500 coins. Retailing for $239.95 CAD, each coin is presented in a black Royal Canadian Mint-branded clamshell case with a black beauty box and serialized certificate.
Designed by artist Neil Hamelin, the reverse brings together symbols instantly recognizable to the RMC family: the National Flag of Canada flying above the College’s iconic clock tower, the RMC banner, and the motto TRUTH DUTY VALOUR and VÉRITÉ DEVOIR VAILLANCE. The commemorative years 1876–2026 mark the sesquicentennial, while five four-pointed stars recognize RMC alumni who became Canadian Space Agency astronauts—Marc Garneau, Chris Hadfield, Michael McKay, Joshua Kutryk, and Jeremy Hansen. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
Alumni interest is already strong: approximately 1,300 coins have been sold to date. With the mintage capped at 6,500 worldwide, this is a limited opportunity for graduates, families, classmates, and supporters to secure an official keepsake of RMC’s 150th anniversary.
