We received word that 22902 Philppe Turcotte (RMC ’04) was recently posted to 425 ETAC in Bagotville, QC, as a new pilot on squadron.

Philippe graduated FPC 41 the 13th of Dec. Above is a photo with his 22 month old boy Shawn, dad Pierre, and spouse Kathleen on the graduation day in Cold Lake.

Well done, Philppe!

11306 Pierre Rivard. Pierre is a former CMR&RMC Cadet, class of 1977 and also a former professor at CMR. He is the founder and CEO of Hydrogenics, a fuel cell hydrogen generation and production company. Hydrogenics was a large research grantor for fuel cell alternative fuels research that is still going on at RMC. Pierre’s new business, where he is CEO, is Magenn Power,a start up wind power generation company, using airborne helium filled balloons that generate power using Magnus Effect motion.

Pierre is also a very good tennis player!

13760 Mark Hamillton Mansfield. “Mans” is a former Roadent and RMC graduate, 1982. He served as a Mars officer and Naval Supply Officer then worked as a civilian project officer at Paramax on CPF. Mans then attended Harvard University for an MBA. With partners he founded two investment banking firms, Garage Technology Ventures and his present company, Pacific Ridge Capital Partners, located in Newport Beach California.

Mark has an interesting Canadian, Ivy League and California accent now. He invites any Ex Cadets to come and stay when in Newport Beach. He can introduce you to the Governator! Mans also just ran the LA Marathon along with his 13 year old daughter. Torque it!

This is a cutting edge technology they are developing quickly in their Victoria BC offices. Greg lists Microsoft among his clients. Search engine metrics is the fastest moving and most competitive corner of the Web today. The proposed Microsoft takeover of Yahoo is being entirely driven by website advertising and therfore search metrics.

Paul C. Marriner, is a Director of Fly Fishing Canada. After teaching
at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ont., where he received a
Masters Degree, he went on to a career with the federal government in
Ottawa. BORN in 1944, Paul attended Dalhousie and Nova Scotia Tech,
earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He took up fly fishing
during the 1960s, and in 1983, became a founding member of the Ottawa
Fly Fishers Society, of which he is a Past President and Life Member.
Paul entered his first World Fly Fishing Championship in 1988 at
Tasmania, Australia. He has since been a Team Canada member at 10
WFFCs, serving as Team Captain from 1994 to 1996 and again in 2000.
In addition, he has attended seven Commonwealth Fly Fishing
Championships. To date, his travels in search of saltwater and
freshwater fishing experiences have taken him to 14 countries. A
prolific writer and skilled photographer, Paul is a member of the
Outdoor Writers of Canada and Outdoor Writers Association of America.
Several hundred of his fly fishing and tying articles have appeared
in various national and international magazines AND HE HAS AUTHORED
FIVE BOOKS. Paul and his wife, Nancy, live in Mahone Bay, NS, where he
owns and operates Gale’s End Press.
